stand alone

stand alone

about time I posted a standing photo :-)

I always seem to be sitting down! well you know how it when you get to age lol.

So back to the dress.

The basic shell was given to me years back and it was a very dull plain white satin and didn't fit me :-( Anyway I had the net from another dress and so added that to the satin number but due to the dropped waistline it didn't really work just made it look fussy. and thus it was left until last night.

All I have done to jazz it up a little is tack a black chiffon sarong under the net to tie the skirt in with the corset. The shrug is basically another sarong that is draped over the shoulders and then passed underneath the corset and tied into a bow at the back.

All in all it worked out ok for this set off photos.

shirt: remixed, EB, thrifted
dress: remixed, Torrid, eBay
socks: remixed, Dream Stockings, Sock Dreams
shoes: remixed, NB, NB factory outlet.

Getting more buttondown shirts, so I can get away from wearing clothing that feels restrictive around my neck while I'm out and about and on my own.

Five Stars

Five Stars

I’ve been promoted

I couldn’t wait to wear this military-style jacket I thrifted in Anchorage. It’s not only olive green, but it is appliqued with five stars. You can now call me General Kit.

After less than 24 hours in Sacramento, I’m back on the road. I’ll recap my Alaska/Washington/Idaho capsule soon. In the meantime, I’ve already begun another travel capsule, built around this thrifted blazer.

Blazer, Donna Collezioni (thrifted). Sweater, Express (consignment). Shorts, Free People (thrifted). Tights, B. Ella. Boots, Miz Mooz. Earrings, thrifted. Bandana, Mono Lake gift shop.
